Book Reviews by Ms. Nallen’s 3rd class

March 30th, 2017 by Ms. Nallen

Agatha Parrot and the Zombie Bird

I liked this book because it is very funny. It’s about this girl called Agatha and her best friends Bianca, Martha, Ivy and Ellie. A visitor arrives to their school with a zombie bird and puts on a show.

I recommend this book for 3rd, 4th,5th and 6th class and would give it a rating of 8 out of 10.

Ellie Byrne

The Rock Boy

This is a fascinating story line about a boy that gets washed up at Thomas Bay in Malta. He can’t or won’t speak. You won’t want to leave this book down!

I would recommend it for 5th and 6th class.

Jake Kavanagh

Cake Test

This book is about a boy named Fredrick and the lazy nanny loses him.It is a  great book and it even has a cake recipe! I would give this book a rating of 10 out of 10.

Tracey Phan

Mrs Wobble the Waitress

This book is about a woman called Mrs Wobble. She was a waitress. Everybody liked her but the one thing they didn’t like was that she wobbled. She even dropped jelly on her managers head.

I would recommend this book for 3rd class and would give it a rating of 9 out of 10.

St. Patrick Acrostic Poems

March 24th, 2017 by Ms Byrne

We created some acrostic poems about St. Patrick. Please read and enjoy the top 4 from our class:

St. Patrick by Rayhana Ameur

Shamrocks everywhere,

Today is the day.

Put your Irish dancing shoes on,

A lot of fun we’ll have.

Things to wear – green, orange & white.

Ribbons on hair.

Ireland flags in the air!

Céilí  – we have to learn,

Kids having great times!

St Patrick – by Jessy Huynh

Saint Patrick is famous,

The saint who isn’t scared of snakes.

Patrick got taken as a slave,

And escaped.

Then scared the snakes of Ireland.

Rescued Ireland from snakes.

Ireland is safe now!

Celebrate and clap,

Kind and happy lad- Patrick.

St. Patrick by Coleen Imperial

St. Patrick our hero,

The hero we care for.

People all in green,

All the sheep he cared for.

The snakes are all gone.

Ready for celebration.

It’s all set in Ireland,

Come on it’s on the 17th of March,

Keep this in your mind we’re about to celebrate.

St. Patrick – Katelyn McKiernan

Saint Patrick’s Day is on its way,

Till Saturday that is the day.

Pirates were on his way for him,

And he had to stay away.

Today he wanted to get away,

Really wanting God to help him this day.

Ireland was a country he might have liked,

Colourful and green he liked his way,

Kindness and goodness he spreads all day.

Find Your Inspiration – 5th Class Event

March 15th, 2017 by Mr. Carty

The pupils in 5th class are currently undertaking a program of work called “Find Your Inspiration”. The aim of the program is to get the children thinking about what they would like to do in the future, as regards subjects in secondary school, going on to third level education, and ultimately what job they would like to work at in the future. The children attended the launch of the program in Maynooth University on 26th January. We are very fortunate to have so many third level options in our surrounding area – Maynooth University, IT Tallaght, University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin City University (DCU), and Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) to name but a few.

Leave a comment and let us know what you would like to do in the future. Keep up the good work!!!
