Our 5th class were recently brought for a tour along the Grand Canal by Sandra Scully as part of the canal awareness programme. We learnt about the history of the canal, Omer’s lock house, the canal’s importance as a mode of transport in the past and the animals, birds and fish found near and in the Grand Canal.

Dublin 1-15 to Mayo 1-14
Dublin retain the Sam Maguire for the first time since 1977 with a 1-15 to 1-14 replay win over Mayo.
Well done to the Dublin team and their manager Jim Gavin and of course hard luck to Mayo. Thanks to both teams for the amazing entertainment.
