Caroline Foundation

February 15th, 2016 by Mr. Carty

At our recent assembly, Helen from the Caroline Foundation gave a presentation about the work the foundation does with cancer research. We recently fundraised for the foundation, by buying and wearing ribbons that Orla and Rosie made. We raised €400 for the foundation. Well done to all – a great effort, for a great cause.

Thank You, Jackie!

February 15th, 2016 by Mr. Carty

We recently had a presentation to Jackie Keane, who has left her role in Follow Your Dream, to work with the local School Completion Programme. Some children from FYD read out some messages for Jackie and we had a little presentation on behalf of the school and Follow Your Dream. We would like to thank Jackie for all her hard work with Follow Your Dream, and wish Sr. Gemma continued success with the project. It is a great way for pupils in 5th and 6th class to achieve success in a dream of theirs.

School Book Fair – Write a book review, win prizes!!!

February 15th, 2016 by Mr. Carty

Our School Book Fair will be here on March 2nd. Parents and children will have a chance to view the books first and then buy them.

This ties in with World Book Day, which takes place on 3rd March 2016. Each child will receive a book token worth €1.50, which can be used against any book purchase at the fair.

For your chance to win a free book from the Book Fair (to the value of €10), all you have to do is write a short review of book that you have read recently. You can write the review in the comments below. Remember to include the 5 main points – Who? When? Where? What? Why? Closing date for entries is Monday, 29th February.
