Talbot Senior National School

On Friday 30th of January 4 teams from our school participated in the annual Credit Union Quiz. One of our teams (Jordan, Claudia, Daragh, Bobby) came 3rd in the 5th class section and one of our 6th class teams came 4th in their section (Victoria, Julia, Ryan, Adam). Well done to all participants.

Next week Food Dudes come to Talbot Senior School for two “Taster Days”. Children will get a chance to taste lots of Fruit and Vegetables.

Why?

1. Children discover the intrinsically rewarding properties of fruit and vegetables and develop a liking for them
2. The programme supports the school culture in strongly encouraging the eating of fruit and vegetables
3. Children come to see themselves as fruit and vegetable eaters and are guided by this self concept

Enjoy the taster days, two next week and two after mid-term break.

^{To commemorate the spirit of the Salesian Sisters in our school, we dedicated our school hall to Don Bosco, by renaming it as The Don Bosco Hall.}

Today our class learnt about Saint Brigid and afterwards made our own Saint Brigid’s Crosses.

Our school hurling team had a great start to our new season on Monday last. This year, for the first time in many years, we have a team competing in the Cumann Na mBunscoil Senior Hurling Championship. Its great to see so the lads out, learning new skills, exercising and having the craic! Stay tuned for updates, Talbóid Abú!
