Want to know how to succeed? How to learn?

Can you fill in the missing letters? Do you know what the word is? (Answer at the bottom of this message.)
Last year Leah Sanusi was in 4th class, and she got a brilliant 17 words per minute (wpm) in the final of the Talbot’s Got Typists competition. And last year, Teigan Walsh was in 6th class and won with a school record of 36 wpm. Today, in the 2013 final, Leah Sanusi broke the school record! She typed at an amazing speed of 39 wpm.
How did she do it?Â
She told me the secret of her success: “Mr Stuart, last year you told me that I had to type using ten fingers, not just two fingers. And to use the website typingweb.com. So I did. Since last year I’ve been practising.”
And now, with all her practice, Leah has won! AND she has set a NEW School Record!
Congratulations to her, and congratulations to others who typed fast using ten fingers: 2nd Place was won by Agata Rybacka of 6th Class with 28 wpm (fantastic!), and 3rd place goes to Sakirat Badmus with 25 wpm (fantastic!).
They’re great scores. I wonder who will win next year? Will it be you? Or will it be one of the other finalists from today, who all did well but will do SO MUCH BETTER when they do what Leah Sanusi did and begin practising using all TEN fingers. Let typingweb.com help you; it’s an amazing website. Imagine being able to type at nearly 40 words per minute!!
3rd Class, Ms Walsh: Robert (14), Esther (13)
3rd Class, Ms Gallagher: Seán (11), Rokas (8)
4th Class, Mr Bannon: Gabriel (17), Thomas (15)
4th Class, Ms O’Flaherty: Kyle (19), Caitlin (18)
5th Class, Mr Byrne: Mateusz (20), Shamad (13)
6th Class, Mr Gilmartin: SÃobhra (19), Seán M (16)(Seán used all ten fingers)
and the other names–I’m unsure whose class they were in (it’s not on the page everyone signed)–Jialimey (25), Davina (18), Vanessa (12), Lukas (31), Jade O’C (21), Chantelle (12). All of you have the ability to type REAL FAST, just practice using ten fingers on typingweb.com.
Next year’s competition will be from this page on typing web (or you can just go to typingweb.com and then “Intermediate Course” and pick “Most Common English Words”).
Happy Typing!
P.S. The answer to my question… pRaCtIcE!!
